How do I book an International Dive Trip set up by the club?
Once a trip is set up and details are confirmed, an announcement will be published through the newsletter, along with a link to secure a spot with a refundable deposit. Spots are secured on a first come basis, and once the trip is full, one can be placed on the wait list. This deposit will hold a spot until final payment date. Once final payment has taken place, the full amount becomes non-refundable. All participants are subject to Safety Officer review and approval.
If I don’t have a roommate when I make a deposit, will Active Divers find me one?
The club will attempt to find you a roommate as other single divers book and will advertise on social media if you request us to do so. However, there is no guarantee that the club will be successful. In such cases when a roommate cannot be secured, you can either cancel the trip prior to the final payment date and receive a deposit refund, or pay the single supplement.
If I do not have a roommate at the time final payment is due, what are my options?
If you don’t have a roommate by the time final payment is due you may cancel and get a full refund of the advertised trip cost you have paid or you can pay the single supplement and have a room by yourself.
If my club provided roommate cancels after the final payment date, will I have to pay the single supplement to go on the trip?
If your roommate has made the final payment also, you will not have to pay the single supplement. If they have not and you want to go on the trip then you will have to pay the single supplement

If I have to cancel due to an emergency after the final payment date, will I get a full refund of the trip cost for payments I made and/or the club made to third-party trip operators including but not limited to, dive operators, cruise lines, tour pa
Because the club has to commit to a number of bookings to get group pricing no trip refunds can be made after the published final payment date. Active Divers does not dictate third-party trip cancellation policies and strongly recommends purchasing trip insurance at the time you make a deposit. No trip insurance is provided by the club, but there are many providers available such as those found at
InsureMyTrip.com. For insurance specific to divers and dive trips you can check
DAN or
DiveAssure.
If I have to cancel due to an emergency , will I get a full refund of the airfare I paid?
Unless otherwise indicated in the trip details, Active Divers does not provide airfare. When you purchase airfare, you have the option to buy fully refundable tickets, or you can buy trip insurance. The club is not responsible for any airfare costs or penalties you may incur.
Are all of the features of the advertised trip such as number of dives, free Nitrox, etc. guaranteed?
In order for the club to get group prices and promotions we have to commit to minimum group sizes. While we have been successful filling trips in the past, circumstances could arise where we are not able to do so. If that were to happen, you would be notified prior to the final payment date and you would be able to cancel for a full refund.
Do I need to bring my certification cards?
Some dive operators will have you scan and send copies of your cards in advance but all of them will require seeing them before your first dive. Take a picture and save them on your phone or to a cloud drive as a secondary option.
What kind of dive boats can I expect on an international trip?
We always try to find operators with large and comfortable dive boats, but depending on the location the boats can be smaller. Some places have skiffs that can only accomadate 10-12 divers, and we have been on dives where the operator provides several boats that can only handle 1-2 divers. When diving on a smaller boat, you need to be able to do a back-roll dive entry.
If I cancel individual dives booked by myself or the club on my behalf, will I get a refund if I cancel them?
All individual dives booked by the club for a trip participant are subject to the policies of the dive operator being used. The club does not set the dive operator's policy. The club does not offer dive insurance for international dives, but there are many providers available such as those found at
