Active Divers International Fiji Trip May 1, 2027 to May 8, 2027
| Ahhhh….Fiji…. It sounds exotic because it is! We have been to Fiji three times at this resort, the best on the island, and we were lucky enough to get a block of rooms for this trip at the beautiful Volivoli Beach Resort. We were there in 2023 and had a fabulous time diving as well as enjoying the many other above water activities. It’s a real cultural experience in addition to the amazing diving. The resort is family owned and run with plenty of support from the local community. It’s a few hours drive from the Nadi airport and somewhat remote but is a completely equipped and luxurious resort with all the amenities, including great food and accommodations. | ![]() | ||
We have nine Deluxe Ocean View double occupancy rooms reserved at this time with a limited availability to add additional rooms, so this is definitely a first-come, first served trip. There are larger rooms and villas, but we found the Deluxe Ocean View rooms to be very comfortable when we were there.

It’s a sprawling resort and a single picture does not do it justice. Take a look at this YOUTUBE video tour at Dive Fiji's Best at Volivoli Beach Resort - YouTube and VOLIVOLI Combined stories. on Vimeo to get a complete look at the resort. We were fortunate to have been there before, so the resort has agreed to honor a previously expired offer for our return visit. Here is what is included in the Active Divers Volivoli dive trip:
There are also several land-based tours available and you can check them out at Volivoli Tours & Experiences | Volivoli Beach Resort . We can arrange custom tours on the island. All of this for $2809! Getting to Fiji is a bit of a journey, and usually one flies out of LAX (Los Angeles main Airport) late at night, arriving early the next morning (actually 2 days later date wise, so you would have to leave LAX on April 29,2027 to get there on May 1, 2027, losing a day on the way by crossing the international date line. There is also an option to fly through Dallas-Fort Worth as well, and we will look into that, as it may avoid an overnight stay in LA. As usual, we DO NOT include airfare in our trip prices. Right now, that airfare is around $800 retail for the cheap seats in the back. It is a 12-hour flight, so you might want to consider some upgrades. If you go through LAX, you will have to get to Los Angeles (LAX) earlier to connect with the Fiji flight. It’s a monster airport, continually under construction, and you have to take a shuttle bus from a domestic to an international terminal, including claiming your baggage if you are connecting via a different airline, so you need a substantial interval between arrival and departure. Frankly, I prefer to get there the day before and stay at a local hotel with an airport shuttle and explore the local sites as a side trip (the Petersen Automotive Museum is a nice diversion). But it is still an acceptable option to arrive that afternoon and hang out at the airport until your Fiji flight departs. There are other ways to add to this trip. For example, do a side trip to Napa Valley and fly from San Francisco, or you may want to stop in Hawaii for a few days prior to going to Fiji. This is a great option if you have a non-diving companion. Or just head straight to Fiji early and stay at the Radisson Blue on Denarau Island, a nice resort and town with a Hard Rock Café if you need a dose of Americana. It is going to be a really great trip, and if you want to experience Pacific Ocean diving with amazing local culture, this is one of the best ways to do it.
