It has been nearly five years since we did an early post-COVID trip on Blackbeard’s, and it is still a great SCUBA adventure. It is hard to describe how such a modest trip can be better than the most luxurious live aboard. Maybe it invokes the explorer in us that wants to bond with the ocean, sun, and wind. Whatever it is, the experience simply cannot be duplicated. I think I have been on this trip eight times and it never disappoints, from shark dives to endless fields of staghorn coral to high current drift dives, it’s everything you can imagine that’s possible on such a trip.

![]() | Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM until 6:00 AM when the cook starts breakfast. Those in the galley will hear the noise of cooking first but will also get fed first! And let’s face it, you will be up early for the first dive anyway. And speaking of dives, you will be able to do four dives during the day and a night dive most days, for up to 19 dives during the week. You may think the diving in the Bahamas is not that good, but trust me, Blackbeard’s knows where the good sites are, and they mostly go to the Exumas.
