Tavernier with Conch Republic Divers
There was plenty to see on a morning two tank trip in Tavernier with Conch Republic Divers. Good dive conditions winds SE 9 kts, water temperature 84F, seas 2".
Dive # 1 Location: Davy Crocker Reef - Visibility: 80 feet.
We descended to the welcoming committee of several nurse sharks and a couple of green moray eels. Swam along the ledge, exploring the various nooks and crannies. Sightings included several queen angelfish, parrotfish, a spotted moray eel, and many other native reef fish and corals. As we circled back toward the boat, Captain Slate's Creature Features contingent descended, set up their semi circle of divers, and we had a second row spot to the show. They began feeding the nurse sharks and the diners showed up in force, at least ten nurse sharks showed up and the moray eels joined in. An unexpected and different dive experience!

Dive # 2 Little Conch Reef - Visibility 70 feet. Lobster's galore on this dive. We descended and swam along the ledge. again, exploring the nooks and crannies. We were treated to see at least six large lobsters with two sitting right on top of the reef, watching us swim by. We also saw some yellowtail snapper trumpet fish and a conch. A green moray swam by us as we swam around the reef with some moderate surge. We leisurely worked our way back to the boat to wrap up a memorable day!
