Pompano Drift with South Florida Diving Headquarters
It was a beautiful afternoon as 11 active divers set out to explore the gentle drifting reefs of Pompano Beach. The water was a toasty 88 degrees, seas flat calm and a gentle south current.
Dive 1 - Turtle Ledge
On this dive we saw so many lobsters - too many to count in fact. I don't know how they all survived Mini-Season and regular season! This site had so many vase sponges of all shapes and sizes, and we saw a channel clinging crab inside one of them. We also saw pufferfish and many other beautiful fish like queen and French angelfish.

Dive 2 - Razzle Dazzle
More gentle drifting in store on this dive but this time with more defined ledges with large clouds of snappers clustering around the ledges. Some had ledges on either side with sand channels in between. We saw two green moral eels on this dive - one of them really huge. A great afternoon for great dives.
