End of Season Picnic at the Blue Heron Bridge

Mother and son dive team Angelica Cookson and Federico Quintana.
We wrapped up our season with a our annual End of Season Picnic at the scenic Blue Heron Bridge. Despite low visibility of 3–4 feet, with a depth of 18 feet and water temperature of 82°F—three dedicated divers still suited up and explored the site. There was actually a lot to see right in front of us including starfish, crabs, puffer fish and a yellow stingray. And While the diving was somewhat limited, the surface festivities were in full swing. Eighteen members gathered to enjoy a classic BBQ featuring hot dogs and hamburgers, masterfully grilled by Bruce Garber—thank you, Bruce! The raffle added extra fun, with great prizes and plenty of smiles. Special thanks to Safety Officer Candidate Jonathan Hilliard for leading the dive and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for our underwater adventurers. Though the season may be winding down, the spirit of our dive community remains strong. Thanks to everyone who came out and made the day memorable!
