Saturday, May 30, 2026 with Scubatyme, Boynton Beach
Eight Active Divers set out for a beautiful dive on the amazing reefs of Boynton Beach aboard the Scubatyme boat. We had the boat nearly all to ourselves, the seas flat calm, and the water warming up to comfortable 82 degrees.

Dashing and devoted Delray divers: back row (from left) Hilda Balbi, Steve Potanovic, Carl Manzetti, Rachel Davis, Amber Laureano, Nathalie Fuson. Front row: Kyle Weisenberg, Barbara Hoffman, Evy Brow, Laura Geselbracht, Amy Shea, Angelica Cookson.

Dive 1 - Delray Ledges: The first dive took us to Delray Ledges, which is a true favorite. Unfortunately the very strong east push kept the majority of us from reaching the dramatic 12-15 foot relief ledge. At the 48 minute mark, Safety Officer Amber Laureano pointed out the ledge on the horizon. Three divers - Amber, Amy and Rachel descended down to enjoy the incredible ledges and clouds of fish. Nonetheless the rest of the group spotted four loggerhead sea turtles and this incredibly large porcupine fish hiding under the ledges and peeking out of a giant barrel sponge, the abundance of which makes the reefs of Boynton famous.
Dive 2 - Tumbled Rocks: The second dive took us to a favorite dive site near the Boynton Inlet. This dive was all about the sharks and we saw three in total. One sleeping under a ledge and the others circling divers along the reef. We also saw schools of Bermuda chubs and swarms of blue creole wrasse along the ledge, along with the curious trunkfish dancing along the corals.
All in all a fabulous dive and the sea turtles we saw are a harbinger of the fabulous Sea Turtle Dives to come.
