Dive 1 – East Dry Rocks
Seas: 1–2 ft | Depth: 25 ft | Vis: 25 ft | Water: 86°F
On a picture-perfect Key West afternoon, six eager divers set out for an unforgettable adventure with Captain’s Corner. A last-minute switch from Lost Reef (whose boat suffered engine trouble) turned into good fortune, as our first stop was the vibrant East Dry Rocks. The site unfolded with beautiful coral ridges and formations that made for easy exploring. While some divers drifted across the reef taking in the scenery, others zoomed in on the tiny, hidden residents of the coral. Their patience was rewarded—blennies, gobies, and jawfish popped from their burrows, posing for the underwater paparazzi and stealing the spotlight.
Dive 2 – Rocky Reef
Seas: 1–2 ft | Depth: 25 ft | Vis: 25 ft | Water: 86°F
After a quick ride and a surface interval filled with stories and laughter, the group was ready for dive two at Rocky Reef. Though visibility wasn’t at its best, the reef made up for it with some thrilling encounters. A massive barracuda loomed like a sentinel inside the site, graciously letting divers witness its “dental cleaning” in action. Meanwhile, a handful of lobsters—safe within the sanctuary—ventured out of their dens as if to greet the group. Despite the haze in the water, the dive delivered excitement, leaving everyone buzzing as they surfaced from another successful Key West adventure.
